Wine Advocate #151 - Feb 2004
Score : 89
Rich and concentrated, the 2000 Gigondas is one of the finest produced at this estate in nearly a decade. A deep ruby/purple color is followed by a beautiful perfume of creme de cassis, cherries, pepper, and earth. Full, chewy, and long, it should drink well for 10-15 years. Drink: 2004 - 2019. Robert Parker.
Wine Spectator - Sep 15, 2003
Score: 86
Subtle, with more finesse than power. Shows off some sweet fruit and ripe tannins, offering a mineral, wet earth, dried herb character. Tough finish, but should gain smoothness. Best from 2005 through 2012. 15,000 cases made. Per Henrick Mansson.
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Jan/Feb 03
Score : 90
Full red-ruby color. Superripe aromas of crystallized red fruits and licorice. Fat and full in the mouth, with a liqueur-like sweetness. Complicating notes of tree bark and spice. Finishes with smooth tannins and noteworthy persistence. Has the volume one would expect from this vintage. Stephen Tanzer.
