More complete, richer, and more textured, the dark ruby/purple-tinged 2006 Crozes-Hermitage offers peppery, tapenade, and cassis scents. This well-made, medium-bodied 2006 is a classic example of the appellation at a high level of quality. Robert Parker.

A twinge of iron leads the way, with black cherry, spice and tobacco notes gliding in behind it. A dash of cherry pit extends the finish. Drink now through 2011. 28,000 cases made. James Molesworth.

Deep ruby. Suave, mineral-driven scents of cherry-cola, redcurrant and fresh flowers, with an undercurrent of minerals. Spicy, finely etched red berry and cherry skin flavors stain the palate, with dusty tannins lending support and a slow-mounting peppery quality adding vivacity. Nicely pure and focused, with strong finishing snap and length. Josh Raynolds.
