Wine Advocate # 193 - Feb 2011
Score : (90-92)
The 2009 Crozes-Hermitage Blanc is made from an identical blend and has an identical upbringing. It exhibits much deeper fruit (bordering on tropical) in addition to abundant minerality as well as white currant, quince and citrus blossom characteristics. It is an impressive, medium to full-bodied white to enjoy over the next 2-3 years. Drink: 2011 - 2014. Robert Parker.

Component #1: Lemon zest and green apple aromas, with a strong mineral undertone. Pure and precise, with nervy citrus flavors and a touch of bitter herbs. Impressively racy on the finish. Component #2: Beeswax, pear skin and orange zest on the nose. Lush, honeyed orchard and pit fruit flavors and good finishing clarity. Rich but energetic. This is virtually all marsanne. Component #3: Poached pear and vanilla scents and flavors, with good breadth and sneaky minerality. Rich but lively, with strong back-end cut. This is the part that was raised in oak. This wine was scheduled to be bottled a couple of days after I tasted it in mid-November. Josh Raynolds.
