These precious bottles are as coveted as they are rare and have benefited from extreme care at every stage of the process, from the vine to the cellars. Vintages 2015

BETTANE+DESSEAUVE

Score : 18/20

Un fruité cassissé profond et savoureux, le tannin est riche et dense, moins crémeux que dans d’autres millésimes mais il donne l’impression d’avoir bien gommé son élevage, une mouline étonnante de fruit.

JEB DUNNUCK

Score : (98-100)

On another level, and unquestionably the best of the three vintages, the 2015 Côte Rôtie La Mouline sports an inky purple color as well as an off-the-charts bouquet of black currants, smoked herbs, spring flowers, gamey meats, and acacia flowers. Massively concentrated, opulent, and as sexy as wine gets, it reminds me of the 1978 La Mouline and has perfection written all over it. If you can afford it, this is a magical, legendary wine in the making that will keep for 4-5 decades.

WINE ADVOCATE

Score : (97 - 99)

Full-bodied and powerful yet elegant, the 2015 Cote Rotie La Mouline is potentially close to perfect. Espresso, grilled meat, caramelized plum and cassis pick up hints of vanilla and herbal-floral notes on the nearly limitless finish. I can’t wait to try this again next year.

WINE SPECTATOR

Score : 98

This is packed with notes of red and black currant preserves, raspberry pâte de fruit and plum reduction at the core. A long way from opening, as the fruit is encased in layers of singed alder, warm earth and smoldering tobacco. A singed iron spine girds the finish. Should offer a gorgeous display of fruit when this develops fully. Best from 2025 through 2045. 88 cases imported. — JM
