The 2006 Crozes-Hermitage blanc is slightly richer with more buttery citrus as well as pineapple and white peach characteristics. This medium-bodied, deep, concentrated wine is fresh, lively, and food-friendly. Outside of Condrieu, St.-Joseph is one of my favorite northern Rhone appellations for value-priced dry whites. Robert Parker.

A forward style, showing almond, floral and melon notes, with a lingering marzipan feel to the finish. Drink now. 4,000 cases made. James Molesworth.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Jan/Feb 08

Pale gold. Racy, mineral-drenched pear and nectarine aromas are deepened by smoky oak spices and floral honey. Blends taut citrus with ripe melon flavors, finishing with nervy lift and piercing thrust. Says Philippe Guigal: "This is the only wine in our cellar that goes with seafood; the others are too rich for anything except maybe lobster in an extremely rich sauce." Josh Raynolds.
