Our comment

This wine is a unique expression of the excellence of the lieu-dit « Saint-Joseph » appellation and these vineyards are from amongst the very best of this up-and-coming appellation in the northern Côtes-du-Rhône. These very slopes lent their name to the Saint-Joseph appellation when it was created. The label was designed by Roger PFUND, a Franco-Swiss artist who is a specialist in the design of bank notes.

Vintages 2006

Wine Advocate #182 - Apr 2009

Score : 92

The brilliant 2006 St.-Joseph Lieu-Dit St.-Joseph blanc offers up abundant aromas of rose petals, red currants, honeysuckle, crushed rocks, flowers, and assorted tropical fruits. This deep, lavishly rich, dry, medium to full-bodied 2006 should drink nicely for 4-5 years. Drink: 2009 - 2014. Robert Parker.

Wine Spectator - Jun 15, 2008

Score: 92

Slightly earthy up front, with wheat biscuit and matchstick notes leading the way for rich persimmon, melon and ginger flavors that show more purity as they stretch out in the glass. Ample structure defines the rich finish. Drink now through 2010. 550 cases made. James Molesworth.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Jan/Feb 08

Score : 91

Light yellow. Spicy quince, apple and pear aromas, with a potent array of minerals, spices and floral qualities building with air. Impressively deep and delineated, with smoky pit fruit and licorice character on the long, sappy finish. This is quite complex. Josh Raynolds.
