Le 4 Janvier 2006 A NEW GUIGAL CELLAR Ampuis' facilities are growing... |
 |
It is right in front of the offices and cellars, on the other side of the main road that new Guigal cellars are about to be built. Having started past January, these news facilities of about 1 acre will be achieved for the end July after a busy schedule completed by the 120 workers acting on this site.
The main role of this new cellar is to allow Guigal winery to bring back its entire stock of southern Rhône wines in Ampuis (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and Côtes-du-Rhône).
The upper level will welcome a vast stainless steal storing cellar meanwhile the underground level will show some 2.000 barrels and larger foudres.
Concerning the design of this new building, the architect of the Guigal family, Mister Serge MEGE from Saint-Tropez selected materials in relation with the wine and its storage during its life that is to say : stone and glass. Therefore, this rather modern design will perfectly fit into the traditional style of the antic village of Ampuis.
