Le Côte-Rôtie « La Mouline » est l’un des crus les plus emblématiques du Domaine GUIGAL. Seulement quelques flacons sont issus chaque année de cette vigne située au cœur de côte blonde. En bouche une texture voluptueuse et soyeuse, intensément aromatique.

Géologie du sol

Vignes terrassées en forme d’amphithéâtre romain. Le terroir est composé de gneiss donnant des sols siliceux de couleur claire auxquels sont mélangés des lœss calcaires.

Encépagement

89% Syrah, 11% Viognier.

Âge moyens des vignes

75 ans environ.

Vinifications

Vinification en cuves inox thermorégulées. Travail par remontages traditionnels. Fermentations alcooliques/macération de 4 semaines.

Elevage unique de 40 mois en pièces neuves

35 Hl/ hectare.

Dégustation

Visuel : Robe rouge rubis avec des reflets rouge vermillon.

Olfactif : Petits fruits rouges, mûre et arômes floraux de violette, … Intensité aromatique puissante mais fine.

Gustatif : Entrée en bouche très souple et belle harmonie entre la finesse des arômes et la richesse explosive due à la concentration de ce vin.

Ensemble : Vin féminin d’une texture voluptueuse au velouté soyeux, intensément aromatique.

A big step up, the 2007 Cote Rotie la Mouline boasts serious richness and depth, with a still tight, focused and youthful profile that’s begging for another couple of years in the cellar. Giving up plenty of smoked earth, toast, dried flowers, graphite, chocolate and hints of bacon fat, it’s a masculine version of this cuvee that should start to open up in another 3-4 years, and drink beautifully through 2032. The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2007 Cote Rotie La Mouline will be bottled around the time this report is released. A superb effort made in the style of the 1991 (which is drinking beautifully at age 20), the 2007 displays silky, velvety tannins, a seamless integration of acidity, alcohol and tannin, and a luscious bouquet of charcoal, lychee nut, black cherries, raspberries and forest floor. Full-bodied, opulent and irresistible, this complex, supple 2007 can be enjoyed now and over the next two decades. Drink: 2011 - 2031. Robert Parker

Exhibits gorgeous aromas of warm tea cake, black tea and singed mesquite, followed by dense but silky structure that carries alluring plum, blackberry and licorice flavors through the very lengthy finish, where a sanguine edge echoes for added length. Inky purple. Highly pungent aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, violet and cracked pepper. Sappy and sweet on entry, then firmed by dusty tannins, which frame the vivid dark fruit and violet pastille flavors. A spicy quality dominates the long, focused, energetic finish. Josh Raynolds.

Saturated purple. Intense, floral-accented aromas of blackberry and cherry-cola, with a strong sandalwood overlay. Lush, sweet, palate-coating dark fruit preserve flavors are complemented by anise and violet pastille qualities and gain weight with air. Tangy acidity adds cut to a long, spicy, penetrating finish.
